A message from The Nesiya Institute

Calling all high school students interested in exploring Israel, outdoor adventure, artistic expression, community service, or Jewish learning:

The Nesiya Institute invites YOU to learn more about the Nesiya Summer Israel Experience at two Bay Area presentation THIS Sunday, January 9, 2011


This presentation will take place at the home of Assia and Yehuda Azenkot, parents of Nesiya alumna, Tali Azenkot, who participated in Nesiya in summer 2007 and is now a student at Barnard College in New York.

When: Sunday, January 9 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: 1128 Littleoak Circle, San Jose, CA


This presentation will take place at the home of Marianne Koch and Dan Kaplan, parents of Nesiya alumna, Mimi Kaplan, who participated in Nesiya last summer, and is now a senior at Berkeley High School.

When: Sunday, January 9 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: 639 Santa Rosa Avenue, Berkeley, CA


Nesiya is also pleased to offer new merit-based fellowships funded by a generous grant from the Goldman Fund, to support the participation of young people from the San Francisco and Peninsula area in three Nesiya programs during the coming year:

  • Nesiya’s six-week summer Israel program
  • Nesiya’s one-week US-based winter retreat
  • An academic-year program of volunteer service and enrichment in the San Francisco area

Presentations will be led by Nesiya’s Executive Director, Charles Herman, from Jerusalem, and will feature the participation of Nesiya alumni and their parents. Prospective participants, parents, alumni and other friends of Nesiya are all welcome to attend.
