The Festival opens with the exclusive Bay Area appearance of the Israeli band Yemen Blues at Freight and Salvage. Lead singer Ravid Kahalani has been described as “the most compelling rising star in world music today”. – Dore Stein (Tangents Host, KALW-FM). Other highlights include Ger Mandolin Ensemble, 2011 – directed by virtuoso Mike Marshall, with Grammy-nominated Avi Avital, and nine more top players. Tickets go on sale January 15th. Full time students receive a $2 discount on either advance or door price. Groups of ten or more receive an additional 15% discount.
